Explore Indio, California

Indio is a city in Riverside County in the Coachella Valley of Southern California's desert region. It lies 26 miles (42 km) east of Palm Springs. Indio is known as the City of Festivals and hosts the only Date Festival in the world.

Indio Hills Palms State Park is a wild parkland that is part of the adjacent Coachella Valley Preserve that contains native palm groves. The nearest palm groves are relatively easy to reach from the trailhead and parking area 4 miles (6 km) north of Indio.
